You are a human first, therapist second.

You are a human first, therapist second.

A person with short brown hair and a neutral expression, wearing a white sweater.

As a therapist, it can be incredibly difficult to reach out for help. You may worry about disclosing your career—worrying that if you show up and are emotionally “messy” what your therapist might think or if they call your therapeutic abilities into question. You may worry about your therapist becoming insecure or “weird” when you tell them you’re also a therapist. You may even wonder if they’re up to par with your standard of care or worry thinking “can they even help me?”

As a therapist that has gone to therapy myself several times throughout my career, I get it. I’ve had some of these exact same worries myself. That’s why I focus on helping my therapist clients simply be clients. You are a human first, therapist second. You are deserving of care. You are deserving of a safe place where you can come pull down the mask and simply be. You deserve to explore your deeply rooted beliefs and traumas. I make a space where that is possible.

    Money Mindset

As therapists, it can be incredibly hard to charge our worth. We’re in a helping profession and often that can leave us feeling like we’re somehow “bad” for charging for our services. For others who maybe come from a more financially insecure/anxious upbringing we’re stuck in a scarcity mindset that keeps us making decisions out of fear rather than our best interest.

I help clients process through these stuck points in their money mindset so that they can start charging their worth—helping them to stop burnout, invest in their future, and clear up some time for personal/professional development and self care.

    Secondary Trauma

We hear about A LOT of terrible stuff—arguably the worst of humanity at times. This can take a toll on even the most seasoned clinicians. When we’re experiencing secondary trauma it can prevent us from leaving work at work, potentially affecting our family and personal lives.

As a trauma therapist myself, I get the profound impact this work can have on us. It does not make you less of a therapist for needing help with secondary trauma. I provide a shame-free experience for therapists that seek to work on the lingering effects of our job.

"I should be able to get past this"

As therapists, we may think (and others certainly think) that we must somehow be immune to emotional issues. That’s not the case though. When we’re dealing with our own personal issues we’re showing up in those situations as humans with our own histories and emotional baggage affecting that presentation.

I help therapists work past the guilt and “I shoulds” so that they can improve self-compassion, reprocess what they need, and feel secure in their identity as both a therapist and a wonderfully flawed human (as we all are wonderfully flawed humans).
