Therapist CE Retreats

Therapists, this page is for you. Most of this site is written for clients, but a lot of you land here because you're curious how this practice is built, so here's the other half of my work.

My name is Jessica Good, MA, LPC. Alongside Good EMDR Therapy, I run Therapy Is A Business, a consulting company for therapists in private practice, and that's where I host continuing education retreats for licensed clinicians.

Why is an EMDR therapist teaching a retreat about money?

Because money is in the room in almost every session, and almost none of us were trained to work with it. It sits inside the attachment work, the family of origin work, and the couples work, and it almost never gets called what it is.

I'm an EMDRIA Approved Consultant, Trauma of Money Certified, and a member of the Financial Therapy Association. The retreat teaches you to recognize money scripts, a term from Brad Klontz's research, in your clients and in the way you run your own practice.

Is this an EMDR training?

No. You don't need EMDR training to attend, and the CE hours are on the psychology of money. It's open to licensed clinicians who own a practice or work as 1099 contractors. Non-licensed practitioners are welcome without CE credit.
